Chanté Mary Dompig was born in Amsterdam on 12 February 2001 and developed as a player between BuitenVeldert and Telstar in the Netherlands. She made her senior debut at 16 years and ten months old in the Eredivisie for VV Alkmaar, whom she stayed with until the end of the 2019/2020 season. In total, she played 21 times and scored four goals. Her career took a turn in the summer of 2020 when the chance came to get her first experience abroad, in Italy with Empoli. She had a goalscoring debut on matchday 1 in the 2020/21 Serie A season against San Marino. In Tuscany, she spent two years grabbing twelve goals in 49 appearances in all competitions, contributing to two excellent seasons for Empoli, and winning the best young player of Serie A 2021/22. However, the final part of that year ended with a serious right knee injury, keeping her out of the game for a long period. It wasn't until January 2023 that she arrived at AC Milan and finally finishing off her rehabilitation and getting back to full fitness, making her debut on 22 April as a starter in the derby against Inter. After two goals in five appearances in the 2022/23 season, she played a key part the following year: as of June 2024, she has scored nine goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.
