AC MILAN 2015/16 ROSTER

SERIE A

There were plenty of changes in the summer of 2015. Filippo Inzaghi was replaced as Head Coach by Siniša Mihajlović, while new additions were made in all areas of the pitch. Romagnoli was signed to bolster the defence, Bertolacci and Kucka came in to strengthen the midfield, while Bacca and Luiz Adriano joined an attack that was boosted by the return of Mario Balotelli. Results were mixed early on, but both Club and Serie A history was made on 25 October as Mihajlović opted to start Gianluigi Donnarumma at the age of 16 years and eight months against Sassuolo. He thus became the youngest goalkeeper in Italian top-flight history to make his full debut. The Rossoneri did well at the start of the second half of the campaign, going nine unbeaten and winning the derby 3-0 thanks to goals from Alex, Bacca and Niang. However, consistency was still lacking and, after a defeat to Juventus on 9 April, the Club and Mihajlović parted ways, with Primavera Coach Cristian Brocchi stepping up to take the role. AC Milan's form didn't improve, and the team ended up finishing in seventh place, outside of the European positions. Nevertheless, 2015/16 was a season where AC Milan enjoyed a good Coppa Italia run. After progressing through five rounds (the team got the better of Perugia, Crotone, Sampdoria, Carpi and Alessandria), the Rossoneri reached the final for the first time since 2003. In Rome, however, Juventus emerged 1-0 victors after extra time.
