PRIMAVERA, GOOD DRAW IN THE DERBY

Perrucci’s goal cancelled out Berenbruch’s penalty: 1-1

A good draw, a good restart. The Rossoneri Primavera’s derby record continues to shine: after the good win in the first half of the season and the thrilling Coppa Italia qualification, today’s 1-1 at the PUMA House of Football was a reflection of the solid performance and reaction from the squad who went behind, pegged back by a penalty that left us concerned. AC Milan probably didn’t approach the game in the best way, not helped by Inter’s strength, and went behind (Berenbruch) but in the second half, they were the superior side and managed to fight back for a draw with Perucci returning to the scoresheet.

It was a good restart after the defeat to Verona in terms of compactness and play, the scoreline isn’t totally satisfying but it gives us energy and awareness - the Nerazzurri are fighting for the top spot and are flying in Europe - ahead of an end of the season that promises to be thrilling. Matchday 29 of the Primavera 1 season saw Coach Guidi’s lads make it 48 points in the table, slipping to sixth but remaining in the play-off zone. There will be another big match in the league next season, away to league-leading Roma, but first the calendar foresees AC Milan v Lecce on Wednesday 12 March at 12:30 CET with a spot in the Coppa Italia final up for grabs.

MATCH REPORT
Inter started aggressively with Lavelli racing in after a  hesitation from Zukić, Nissen was key in closeing down the move. AC Milan showed themselves and were on the attack in the 16th minute as Perrucci headed just wide on the cross from Comotto. In the 17th minute, an incident allowed the opposition to open the scoring: Zukić with a weak pass backwards, Longoni seemed to close down Lavelli but for Lovison it was worth a penalty. Berenbruch stepped up to the spot and converted, despite Longoni getting a foot to it. We reacted by creating several dangerous crosses through Bakoune and Liberali.

At the start of the second half, the Rossoneri got the equaliser. In the 47th minute, Liberali recovered the ball and passed to Perrucci who sent the ball into the bottom corner with an ultra-precise shot. We were upping the pressure, Bonomi headed high and in the 51st minute, we wasted a good chance: Bonomi went off on a run and faced with Calligaris, chose to pass into the middle - not perfectly - instead of take the shot, in the end, Liberali was blocked. The Nerazzurri were back on top, close to taking the lead in the 62nd minute when Mosconi failed to send it home in front of goal. Once more, the opposition had a few dangerous moments, in the 87th minute De Pieri and Spinaccè had a go. In the final moments, Bakoune was blocked and in the 90th minute, Nissen hit the post with a header. Final whistle.
