What a start! AC Milan Primavera got their season off to a flier with a big 4-0 victory over newly-promoted Udinese. After a quiet opening half an hour, the Rossoneri ground through the gears and opened the scoring through Maximilian Ibrahimović from a Bonomi assist. Our number 30 then doubled our lead from the spot in stoppage time.
With the Rossoneri a man up following a second yellow for Abankwah, our boys managed the game well and with care in all phases of the game. Ibrahimović then made it a debut brace, before Perin scored a late fourth for the Diavolo, turning home from Cappelletti's assist. So, it was an excellent opening day for Guidi's side, who are next in action on Monday 26 August when they take on Torino at the PUMA House of Football.

MATCH REPORT
It was a warm morning at the Stadio Comunale in Casarsa della Delizia and both sides were slow to start the game. AC Milan were organised and let their opponents have very little, but the first chance of the game fell the way of the hosts in the 23rd minute. Mastrantonio made a great stop to deny De Crescenzo. Very little happened until the 38th minute when the Rossoneri took the lead. Bonomi created the goal, middling it for Ibrahimović to slot home. The game changed, and not only because of the goal, as Abankwah picked up a second yellow card (40') and Udinese found themselves down to ten men. The Rossoneri then doubled their lead in stoppage time, Bonomi converting from the spot after a penalty had been awarded for handball.
A two-goal lead and a numerical advantage made life easy for AC Milan, but they would not rest on their laurels. Perin's effort was blocked (47') before Sala sent his effort just wide (51'). The Rossoneri did get their third in the 56th minute: Ibrahimović beat his man and then fired past Malusà to make it a brace. Guidi's side continued to press for goals, with Perera coming close in the 71st minute. The fourth game late on through Perin. It ended 4-0 to us!
POST-MATCH STATEMENTS
"We approached the game well. I was curious to see opening day for these really young guys, who have worked really hard in recent weeks," Coach Guidi said. "Once we took the lead, we started to play more expansive football and create chances. We also didn't let them have much. We were the better side even before the sending off. I wanted to see the boys play like this do in training; right from kick-off, they looked fully focused and played with intensity. They did what I asked of them. It's a new group, a young group, and there are margins for growth. There's ample room for improvement. This result will give us more confidence as we look to get better."
