PRIMAVERA FIGHT BACK TO BEAT FROSINONE 2-1

Behind just three minutes in, the Rossoneri fight back to return to winning ways and earn big points for the playoff race

How that was needed! After three games, AC Milan Primavera returned to winning ways in the league by beating Frosinone 2-1, getting a massive result to keep their playoff hopes alive and kicking. The Rossoneri showed strength of character in the final game of the season at the PUMA House of Football: trailing inside three minutes, Abate's team managed to regroup and found the equaliser just before the quarter-of-an-hour mark through Bonomi; Scotti then sealed the three points late on. After an intense 90 minutes with few opportunities, we must now await the results of Torino and Sassuolo.

We momentarily move up to fifth place on 50 points and, whatever happens, are in a good position for a Scudetto playoff spot going into the crucial match away to the Granata. It would be the first time for us since the Primavera league changed formula, and would be the best possible reward for a group that has continuously grown despite not fearing the age difference seen at times against some opposition. Regardless, credit must go to Coach Abate's boys, with a special mention to the two goalscorers on the day: a 6th goal of the season for both Bonomi and Scotti in all competitions. Forza Milan!

MATCH REPORT
It couldn't have been a worse start for the Rossoneri, with Frosinone going ahead inside three minutes: Selvini's corner and Luna got ahead of his marker to head home past Raveyre. The respone, however, was immediate. First, good play from Scotti saw Žaknić beat Sia to the ball, before the equaliser in the 15th minute from Alessandro Bonomi, who after a patient build-up pounced on a loose ball, got ahead of two opponents and beat the onrushing Palmisani with his right foot. There was little else of note in the rest of the first half: a long range attempt by Malaspina in the 32nd minute and then a chance apiece in the 39th and 40th minute, with the Ciociari close to scoring through Selvini's right-footed shot, which went just wide; and then Bakoune and Sia produced a nice counterattack for the Rossoneri but Scotti's left-footed shot fell behind.

The second half started off with a nice cross from Bartesaghi, in which Sia came close to what would have been an excellent finish from in front of goal position. In the 52nd minute, Sala drove forward, but his effort on goal failed to worry Palmisani. The two coaches tried to turn things around with substitutions. In the 72nd minute, Simić made a timely save off the line from Luna's attempt. Emtering into the ten minutes, the Rossoneri's pressure grew. After two shots by Malaspina and Liberali, the winning goal came in the 85th minute: Magni's cross for Sia, a rebound into the area which Scotti pounced on to strike past Palmisani. In five minutes of injury time, we came close to a third with the opposition goalkeeper coming out to win the ball ahead of Liberali, well found by Camarda, before the final whistle blew for AC Milan's victory!
