PRIMAVERA COME FROM BEHIND AGAIN

El Hilali's penalty secures a point in a 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona

AC Milan drew 1-1 with Hellas Verona on matchday 15 of Primavera 1. Calabrese opened the scoring for the Gialloblù before Youns El Hilali equalised from the spot - his seventh goal of the season. The final result doesn't reflect the performance put in by Ignazio Abate's Rossoneri, who created a host of chances and probably deserved to win. Hellas were kept in it by various goalline clearances and a stunning display from goalkeeper Boseggia.

The Primavera thus recorded their second consecutive draw - and came from behind again as they did against Napoli - following a performance to be proud of. There were plenty of positive signs and our young Rossoneri showed that same never-say-die attitude that so often accompanies their matches. In particular, we would be remiss not to give a special mention of the performance from forward Diego Sia (born in 2006). The fixture list has our boys at home again next week; on Monday 30 January, AC Milan host Juventus at the PUMA House of Football.

MATCH REPORT
The Rossoneri were slow to get going. The only early opportunity was a good chance for Parmiggiani, who, in the seventh minute, saw his close-range effort cleared by the Hellas defence. Lapo Nava then had to remain alert in the Milan goal, first to deny Bragantini (13') and then Cazzadori (25'). Abate's side then began to grow into the game and produced two moments of real threat in the 35th minute: Omoregbe let fly with an effort from outside the box and then El Hilali with a curling effort, both were saved by Verona shot-stopper Boseggia. AC Milan's final opportunity of the first half fell in the 43rd minute when Sia's low, driven effort was cleared off the line.

Our boys started the second half well; in the 46th minute, Foglio's effort forced another goalline clearance. The Rossoneri kept at it but Gala's attempt in the 52nd minute was thwarted, as were good moments from Sia, who was a constant thorn in the backside of the Gialloblù defence. Substitute Victor had a go in the 67th minute but yet another colossal defensive effort denied the Rossoneri what would have been a well-deserved opener. The goal did come but it was the guests who scored it, Calabrese catching Nava out with a shot on the turn (74'). Milan were not to be beaten, though, and Sia tested Boseggia in the 75th minute. Then, two minutes later, joy for the hosts as El Wafi conceded a penalty, which El Hilali converted. Nava and Casali came up trumps to deny Caia and Bernardi respectively, while Parmiggiani and Alesi also gave it a go, to no avail. It ended 1-1.
