WOMEN, AC MILAN v INTER: MATCH PREVIEW

Derby at the PUMA House of Football: the Rossonere with their last home game

AC Milan Women are getting ready to face Inter on Matchday 8 of the Championship Round of Serie A 2024/2025. The match will be played on 25 April at 16:00 CEST at the PUMA House of Football. Coach Bakker's side are prepared to face Coach Piovani's Rossoneri in a derby that will be packed full of emotion. The season is coming to an end, and even though there isn't too much left to play for in the league, a derby will always be a derby. Let's get ready for kick-off with our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL
AC Milan are coming into the derby off a 2-0 loss to Juventus, putting an end to a run of five games without losing in Serie A. The Rossonere showed a spell of constant growth, securing top wins against Roma (3-1) and against Fiorentina (5-3). Despite the recent setback, AC Milan have shown their solidity and determination, especially in home matches. Coach Bakker's girls are ready to get back on track and to give their all in this important battle. Babb and Zanini are still unavailable, and Laura Giuliani is still an uncertainty. There are no suspensions, Piga and Sorelli are carrying cautions.

Coach Bakker had the following to say on the eve of the game: "In our last home matchday of this season, the derby, we hope to treat our supporters to another great match. Against a physically strong Inter side, we need to be alert and combative to achieve the best possible result!"

LATEST FROM INTER
Inter are coming into the Derby having just qualified for next year's Champions League, having won their last two games in the Championship Round against Juventus (Italian champions) and Roma. The Nerazzurre, who are in good form, now want to secure second place in the league. However, Piovani's girls are struggling to find consistency away from home, and they haven't won any of their last four away games.

After beating Roma, Ivana Andrés said this about the game at the PUMA House of Football: "We have grown a lot throughout the season by working hard and working well. The season isn't over and we now need to focus on the derby and aim to secure second place".

PRE-MATCH STATS

  • AC Milan lost their last Serie A match (0-2 to Juve) after a run of five games unbeaten (2W, 3D); only once in their history have the Nerazzurre lost two games in a row without scoring in the top division: last November against Juventus and Como.
  • On the one hand, only Fiorentina have recovered more points from losing positions than AC Milan in Serie A this year (18); on the other hand, only Como (18) and Roma (15) have lost more than Inter when in front: 42% of points dropped by the Nerazzurre this year (6/14), came in their three draws against AC Milan, when they got in front every time.
