A big point after a difficult game. The Rossonere equalised at the very end of the derby at the Arena Civica. The Nerazzure went ahead through Wullaert in the 77th minute, before Laurent headed home the equaliser in the 87th minute, warding off the third consecutive league defeat. It wasn't a simple game, Inter were often dangerous, hitting the woodwork three times before taking the lead and having to face an extraordinary Laura Giuliani who made several big saves. Coach Bakker's side did well to stay in the game, fighting over every challenge and playing to the bitter end.
And the equaliser came with just three minutes to the final whistle, Renzotti won us a corner that Mascarello crossed into the centre for Laurent to head home, all three players having come on in the second half. This was a testimony to the entire squad's refusal, on and off the pitch, to lose the derby. When in trouble, the spirit of the group shone and fought against defeat to pick up the first point of the season. It may not seem like much, but this may be the first step on a new journey that sees us face Lazio on Sunday at the PUMA House of Football.

MATCH REPORT
The hosts got off to a flying start at the Arena Civica, creating three big chances in the first 10 minutes: in the 3rd minute, Giuliani proved unbeatable as she closed down Magull. In the 9th minute, our goalkeeper was decisive once again as her instincts jumped into action to keep Cambiaghi out of the post. The Nerazzurre hit the woodwork once again in the 10th minute, as Magull's free-kick smacked the crossbar. After struggling in the first passage of play, the Rossonere moved out of their own half to create two dangerous chances. In the 15th minute, Dompig made a good run down the left and put in a ball for Rubio whose shot was blocked by the opposition defence. At the half-hour mark, Marinelli led a promising counter, but her cross didn't quite reach Karczewska in the box. The second half started with another big stop from Laura Giuliani, doing well to come out and meet Polli and then with a timely reaction on the shot from Cambiaghi.
The Inter offensive continued, and they hit the woodwork for the third time with Polli in the 58th minute. We also proved threatening and in the 61st minute, Karczewska did well from the back to pick out Dompig in the box, but the Dutch player couldn't quite get the right power behind her shot. In the 77th minute, in a seemingly calmer moment, Inter took the lead through Wullaert, who shot from the edge of the area to beat Giuliani. In the 87th minute, however, came the Rossonere leveller: Renzotti won a corner, Mascarello took and Laurent headed it in at the front post. 1-1 and that was that.
