Just days before the start of the season, with the training camp set for 22 July at the PUMA House of Football, AC Milan has announced the first international engagement for their women's team.
On 10 August, the Rossonere will fly to Newcastle upon Tyne to face the English side, who will compete in the Barclays Women's Championship for the 2024/25 season.
The Women's First Team, now under the guidance of Dutch coach Suzanne Bakker, will begin testing their readiness for the Serie A season, which starts on the last weekend of August, by immediately competing in high-level international matches. The game, kicking off at 14:00 CEST is part of the broader "Sela Weekender" event organized by the hosts and will take place at St. James' Park.
The participation of the Rossonere in the Sela Cup underscores the appeal of the AC Milan brand within women's football, following the June tour in Mexico, among other events. This tournament provides another opportunity for both sporting and marketing development, allowing the team to engage with different realities and reach new communities and stakeholders.
