ROSSONERE PEGGED BACK BY SASSUOLO

Both goals in the first six minutes at the PUMA House of Football: Bergamaschi with the opener, Beccari with the equaliser

It ended 1-1 between AC Milan and Sassuolo at the PUMA House of Football on matchday 7 of Women's Serie A. Both goals came in the opening six minutes. Captain Bergamaschi opened the scoring after two minutes played, followed by the Neroverdi's equaliser through Beccari. The raft of chances for both sides following the goals went begging and a draw sees no change in the standings for either the hosts or the guests; AC Milan stay in sixth place, a way off top spot.

A first goal of the season for Valentina Bergamaschi wasn't enough for Ganz's side - the coach was sent off for dissent at the end of the first half - to get back to winning ways. The Rossonere (wearing our Third Kit for the first time) played with grit and generosity. The subs made an impact off the bench in the second half and maybe the team deserved a better outcome. It's not the easiest time at the moment but the fixture list offers us various chances to rediscover form and confidence. Up next: AC Milan v Sampdoria at the PUMA House of Football on Saturday 18th (18:00 CET).

MATCH REPORT
The Rossonere got their noses in front early. In the third minute, a Dompig cross found Bergamaschi, who brought it down and fired past Durand. The guests' reaction was immediate, equalising on six minutes through a Beccari header. AC Milan pushed down the left again (12'): this time, Thrige looked for Vigilucci whose effort whistled a whisker wide. Giuliani did well in the 21st minute to keep out Santoro's well-hit effort. Three minutes later, Bergamaschi sent her shot just off target with a dangerous cross-cum-shot. There were few chances for the remainder of the first half, save for a Grimshaw effort that went just over the bar. As the half drew to a close, Coach Ganz was sent off for dissent after Stašková drew contact in the box.

The second half began with a shock for the Rossonere: Piga came off injured, to be replaced by Fusetti at the heart of the defence. The two sides tried to break the deadlock, with plenty of challenges in midfield. AC Milan threatened through Grimshaw (57') and Bergamaschi (59') before Giuliani was called into action again, this time to deny Beccari (68'). The Rossonere didn't want to settle for a point and pushed until the end to restore their lead. Grimshaw fired off target (85') before a Vigilucci header sailed over the crossbar (87'). Two chances fell the way of the Rossonere in stoppage time. In the 92nd minute, Mascarello's show was off target before, a minute later, Stašková set herself up well, only to fire wide from a good position. It ended 1-1.
