GIACINTI SCORES THE WINNER AGAINST EMPOLI

The Rossonere are back to winning ways at Vismara: Valentina's second-half goal keeps us in 3rd

AC Milan took the spoils at Vismara in their second consecutive win in the league, which saw the Rossonere maintain their grip on third place. Valentina Giacinti bagged the only goal of the game against Empoli, latching onto a poor clearance from the opposing goalkeeper. It was a deserved win for Coach Ganz's girls against fierce opposition.

Valentina's seventh league goal this season - she is the leading goalscorer in the division - decided a match that contained plenty of positives: above all, the debuts of youngsters Jonušaitė and Selimhodzic, as well as a fifth clean sheet of the season. Up next for AC Milan: newly-promoted Pomigliano away from home next Sunday at 12:30 CET.

REPORT
Ganz made one change from the starting line-up seen against Empoli, starting Korenčiová ahead of Giuliani. AC Milan started brightly and went close to taking an early lead through Bergamaschi and then Adami in a double chance from a corner (9'). The tempo of the match wasn't the quickest but Tucceri Cimini did have a go in the 16th minute from a free-kick; Empoli broke away and Korenčiová did well to deny Dompig. The Tuscan side were looking the stronger of the two teams as the half wound to a close and had two chances through Nocchi in the 47th minute - saved by the Rossonere's number 12 - and Bragonzi in the 44th minute. But AC Milan continued to have more of the ball.

The Rossonere started the second half well, with Thomas attempting the bicycle kick in the 48th minute. She then sent a shot wide in the 63rd minute after substitute Giacinti lead the counter. And it was Valentina that gave AC Milan the lead in the 68th minute: Bergamaschi swung in the cross, Ciccioli spilled it at the league's top scorer turned it home on the volley. Following the goal, Empoli had a few attempts but the Rossonere were well on top and went close through Adami in the 83rd minute. The last bit of action came in the 87th minute when Tucceri Cimini cleared Tamborini's effort off the line. Full time.
