SPEZIA v AC MILAN: FUN FACTS

The main statistics ahead of matchday 35 in Serie A

The Rossoneri now turn their attentions to Serie A, with a tricky away trip awaiting them. For matchday 35, Coach Pioli's AC Milan visit the Picco in La Spezia with the aim of continuing their recent good league form. On the eve of the game, let's take a look at some of the main stats and fun facts:

NO DRAWS
In six previous meetings prior to this weekend's, Spezia and AC Milan have never drawn, considering all competitions: the Rossoneri have four wins (three in Serie A and one in the Coppa Italia) with two for the Ligurians (both in the top-flight). Zero draws but also new opportunities: after the 2-1 home success earlier in the season, AC Milan could do the double over Spezia for the first-time ever in Serie A. Against sides from Liguria, they have won their last four games on the road, a Rossoneri record away from home in Ligurian territory in the top-flight. Instead, they haven't had three consecutive away-day wins in Serie A since December 2018, while only Salernitana (14) and Udinese (13) have drawn more games than Spezia (12) this season.

OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE SPECTRUM
Only Napoli (15) and Inter (14) have scored more times than AC Milan (13) in the final quarter of an hour this campaign; on the other side, Spezia are the lowest-scoring side with 15 minutes to play (only one). No other team has scored more goals than the Rossoneri this season on the counter-attack (seven, equal with Inter), while nobody else has conceded more than Spezia in this category (seven, like Sampdoria). Facing each other at the Picco is the team that has won the most duels in Serie A, percentage-wise, (AC Milan, 53.2%) and the one that has won the least (Spezia, 47.3%).

THEO ON THE PODIUM
Theo Hernández has two goals to his name against Spezia in the league; only against Parma and Venezia (three apiece) has he done better in Serie A. Furthermore, the French full-back has been on the scoresheet four times in Serie A this year, and since arriving in Milan (2019/20) he is the highest-scoring defender (seven) following a dribbling-run forward in the Italian top-flight. More specifically, Theo's goal in the last league game against Lazio came from a 58-metre forward foray with the ball at his feet, a record in this season's Serie A.

CURRENT FORM
The Rossoneri are currently on the longest unbeaten run in this year's competition (seven: 3W, 4D). Furthermore, AC Milan haven't tasted defeat in their last 17 away fixtures in the league against sides sitting in the bottom three, with eleven wins and six draws (including the most recent one, 0-0 against Cremonese). In addition, AC Milan are one of two sides, together with Napoli, to have not lost a point from a winning position on their travels during this ongoing season (six wins out of six for the Rossoneri).

COACH VERSUS COACH
AC Milan are the team that Leonardo Semplici has lost most to as a Head Coach in Serie A: six out of seven (1D). Instead, Stefano Pioli has never lost against the current Spezia Head Coach in seven fixtures in Serie A (4W, 3D); only against Davide Ballardini (eight) is he unbeaten in more games as a Head Coach. Furthermore, Pioli has never drawn against Spezia in five Serie A clashes (3W, 2L).
