CREMONESE v AC MILAN: FUN FACTS

Rossoneri statistics heading into Matchday 14 of Serie A

It's time to think about Cremonese v AC Milan by reading the stats related to the Rossoneri's Serie A matchday 14. 14th Serie A match. Past and present, team and individuals. Here are the most interesting facts:

AC MILAN AND CREMONESE, ONCE AGAIN
AC Milan and Cremonese face each other once again in Serie A after 9676 days. On 12 May 1996 the match ended 7-1 and saw the first brace (the only one for the Rossoneri) in Serie A for Paolo Di Canio. The Rossoneri have won ten of their fourteen Serie A matches against Cremonese (2D, 2L) and have gone unbeaten in 25 of their most recent 26 matches against newly-promoted sides (19W, 6D).

LOTS OF GOALS
Coach Pioli's team are the only side that have scored the most goals in the second half of this Serie A season (11), six more than Cremonese have scored in total in the current tournament. Only Napoli (13) have  more goals from different players than the Rossoneri (11) in the current championship.

LANDMARKS
The next match will be Tonali's 100th appearance for AC Milan in all competitions. Sandro has provided three assists, against Dinamo Zagreb and Spezia - in four matches -  as many as in his first 95 games as a Milan player. Rafael Leão is one goal away from becoming the fourth player with more than five goals in at least four seasons in a row in Serie A for AC Milan after Weah, Kaká and Pato. The next game will also be the 150th in Serie A for Simon Kjaer; although the Dane has played in four of the five European leagues, this could become the first competition in which he achieves this milestone.

LEÃO AND DÍAZ FACTOR
If AC Milan have to go without both Hernández and Giroud for the first time this season, there are Rafael Leão and Brahim Díaz ready for the challenge: no one has been involved in more goals than the Portuguese in Serie A in 2022 (23: 12 goals+11 assists). Since Serie A returned to 20 teams only Kaká in 2008 (27: 15+12) and Ibrahimović in 2020 (26: 20+6) have been involved in more goals in a single calendar year in the league; the Spaniard has already equalled his own record for goals in a single season in Europe's big five leagues (4).

COACH, DO YOU REMEMBER?
Stefano Pioli scored just one goal in his playing career in Serie A: against Cremonese at Stadio Zini for Fiorentina on 29 October 1989.
