TORINO v AC MILAN: FUN FACTS

Interesting facts and stats on the clash against the Granata

The long history of encounters between AC Milan and Torino is enriched by a new episode in the city of the Mole Antonelliana, a stage that on several occasions in the past has been the scene of key matches for the fight for first place. The Rossoneri are currently focused on keeping up with leaders Napoli, while the hosts are looking for further success after their away win in Udine. Here are the most interesting stats and facts surrounding the fixture.

SHARING THE SPOILS
Torino and AC Milan have met 153 times in Serie A and of those encounters, 56 have ended in draws - completing the tally with 63 wins for the Rossoneri against 33 for the Granata. Only against Lazio (58) have the Piedmontese drawn more league matches than against us. Furthermore, in the last 11 home matches against Torino, there have been seven draws (with two wins each), including the most recent 0-0 in April 2022.

GOALS ON THE MENU
AC Milan have not gone without scoring in two consecutive away matches against the Granata since 1994. Their penultimate visit to the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on 12 May 2021, in fact, ended in a colossal victory for Pioli's boys, who, in the midst of their pursuit of a Champions League place, won 7-0, inflicting on Nicola's side one of the two biggest home defeats ever recorded by Torino in Serie A.

RECORD-BREAKING AWAY GAMES
Torino at home are struggling to score points, having gone without a goal in three of their five home games this season, scoring just two goals in the other two games. A.C. Milan, in response, have not lost an away match in 17 league games, thanks to 12 wins and five draws (it is the longest current unbeaten streak in the top five European tournaments): they have not gone at least 18 games since the record series of 38 consecutive away matches unbeaten in the Capello era (between September 1991 and October 1993).

FIRED-UP SHOOTING
The ability to play 90 minutes without losing steam is one of the characteristics of Pioli's Milan. The Rossoneri are the league's most prolific team in the second half games with 15 goals to their name, three times as many as Torino. The two clubs are, on a par with Roma, the only ones not to have lost points from a lead this season - AC Milan have been on top eight times compared to the Granata's four.

SEE BULL, SEE RED
There are some players who are at their best when they face Torino. The Granata are Ante Rebić's favourite opponent in Europe's top five leagues: five goals in five matches, including his only hat-trick for AC Milan, scored in the 7-0 win in May 2021. Toro are also the team against whom Brahim Díaz has contributed to the most goals in Serie A: for the Spaniard, one goal and two assists in three matches. Finally, Simon Kjær is preparing to celebrate his 150th game in the competition: of the teams he has faced more than twice in the tournament, Torino is the one against which the Dane has recorded the best winning percentage with five victories in six matches.
