10 FACTS ON AC MILAN v GENOA

The main stats as the Rossoneri's Serie A matchday 33 fixture draws nearer

AC Milan v Genoa in numbers. Here are a few of the most interesting stats as we await kick-off at 21:00 CEST at San Siro.

HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD
1- AC Milan and Genoa have met 107 times in Serie A. The Rossoneri have won 53, drawn 34 and lost 20 against the Rossoblù.

2- AC Milan, who have scored in 20 of their last 21 home games against Genoa in Serie A (the only exceptions being a 0-0 draw in October 2017), have won 2-0 in both of the league matches between the sides on a Friday (December 2011 and March 2013).

3- This is the first time in Serie A history that AC Milan and Genoa are meeting with a points difference of over 40 between the two teams at the start of the matchday (46 to be precise). The previous record was the 32-point lead that the Rossoneri had on 24 April 2012 - that too was going into matchday 33.

CURRENT FORM
4- AC Milan haven't conceded a single goal in their last five league games; Stefano Pioli could, therefore, become only the third head coach in Rossoneri history to register at least six consecutive clean sheets in Serie A after Fabio Capello and Nereo Rocco.

5- Should they win, AC Milan would exceed the 70 point mark in less than 34 games for the fifth time in Serie A in the three-points-per-win era (2003/04, 2004/05, 2005/06 and 2010/11 being the other four).

GENERAL STATS
6- AC Milan have the second-best defence in Europe's Top-5 leagues in 2022 (seven goals conceded in 13 games). In general, no team has kept more clean sheets in Serie A this season with 14, the best of any team since 2011/12 (18).

7- The meeting at San Siro is one between the two teams with the most duels won per 90 in the league this season (10.9 for AC Milan, 10.4 for Genoa), as well as the team with the most goals scored from outside the box (the Rossoneri with 11) and the only team not to have scored from outside the penalty area to date this season.

PLAYER FOCUS
8-
Five current AC Milan players have scored their first Serie A goal against Genoa, two of whom did it in a Rossoneri shirt: Theo Hernández (October 2019) and Pierre Kalulu (December 2020). The other three are Alessio Romagnoli (Roma, March 2013), Rade Krunić (Empoli, October 2015) and Sandro Tonali (Brescia, October 2019).

9- Among the goalkeepers with at least ten appearances, only Wolves' José Sá (79%) has a higher save percentage than Mike Maignan (78.7%) in Europe's Top-5 leagues this season.

10- Having scored in his most recent Serie A appearances against Genoa (18 April 2021), Ante Rebić could score in two consecutive games against a single opponent for the first time since September 2021 (when he got to three against Juventus).
