AC MILAN v EMPOLI: THE NUMBERS FROM THE GAME

The stats from the Rossoneri's 1-0 win

The Rossoneri recorded another vital 1-0 win. After the victory at the Maradona, AC Milan repeated the feat at San Siro, beating Empoli thanks to Kalulu's goal in the first half. The Rossoneri thus maintained their grip on first place in the table (as we await the result of Inter and Napoli's games in hand) and currently have 63 points from 29 Serie A matches.

1- AC Milan have taken 63 points in their first 29 matches of the season. Since the 2006/07 campaign, they have never done better at this point of the tournament in the Italian top flight (they also had 63 at this stage in the 2011/12 season).

2- AC Milan have kept clean sheets in two consecutive Serie A games for the first time in 2022.

3- AC Milan have won six consecutive home games against newly-promoted teams for the first time in Serie A since a run between August 2010 and May 2012 with Massimiliano Allegri as Rossoneri boss.

4- AC Milan have scored ten goals from outside the box in the league this season, no team have done better in Europe's Top-5 leagues.

5- Stefano Pioli has become the seventh manager to have reached 600 total Serie A goals scored by his teams in the three-points-per-win era.

6- AC Milan are the first team to score through three French players in a single Serie A season (Giroud, Hernández and Kalulu) since Fiorentina in 2017/18 (Eysseric, Théréau and Veretout).

7- Pierre Kalulu has scored his second goal in Serie A, the other was against Genoa on 16 December 2020.

8- Pierre Kalulu has become AC Milan's 16th different goalscorer in Serie A this season, only Fiorentina and Atalanta (17 for both) have more than the Rossoneri.

9- Olivier Giroud took seven shots in this match, a record for him in a single game in an AC Milan shirt in all competitions.
