AC MILAN V LAZIO: THE STATS FROM THE WIN IN THE COPPA ITALIA

The main stats from the quarter-final victory at San Siro

AC Milan recorded a brilliant win as they booked their spot in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, where they will take on Inter over two legs. The 4-0 win over Lazio at San Siro was the product of a mature display from our boys, who wrapped up qualification before half time with a goal from Leão and a Giroud brace. Kessie then added a fourth in the second half. Let's take a look back at the game against the Biancocelesti with ten stats.

1- AC Milan have won a match by a margin of at least in all competitions for the first time since May against Torino in Serie A (7-0 in that case).

2- Rafael Leão has scored 9 goals in 2021/22 in all competitions. The Portuguese has established his new record of goals in a single season with a club of the Big-5 European leagues.

3- Olivier Giroud is only the third AC Milan player able to score in four consecutive starts at San Siro in the last ten seasons (after Zlatan Ibrahimović in October 2020 and Hakan Çalhanoğlu in July 2020).

4- Rafael Leão has been involved in 14 goals this season in all competitions (nine goals and five assists), more participations than any other season with a club of the Big-5 European leagues.

5- Olivier Giroud has scored ten goals in eight competitive games started with AC Milan at the Meazza. The Frenchman has also scored two or more goals in two games in a row for the first time since January 2013, when he played for Arsenal.

6- Theo Hernández provided his 8th assist in 2021/22 in all competitions, more than in any other season with a club of the Big-5 European leagues.

7-  Frank Kessie has scored 3 goals in his last 3 appearances for AC Milan in all competitions, as in his previous 20 games this season.

8-   Alessio Romagnoli has provided his first assist of the season in all competitions and, in general, his very first one in Coppa Italia in his career.

9- AC Milan have ended the first half with a three-goal lead for the second time this season, after the Serie A game against Cagliari (4-1 in that case).
