5 FACTS ON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW

The 2021/22 Champions League group stage draw is complete, and AC Milan have been placed alongside Atlético Madrid, Liverpool and Porto in Group B. Here are the facts that you need to know:

1. AC Milan have faced Atlético Madrid just twice in Europe: the Rossoneri lost both fixtures during their round of 16 tie against the Spaniards during the 2013/14 Champions League.
2. Atletico Madrid were the last team that AC Milan faced in the Champions League: in March 2014, the Diavolo suffered a 4-1 defeat away from home, with Kaká getting on the scoresheet.
3. AC Milan have played Liverpool twice in Europe: the two Champions League finals in 2005 and 2007. The Rossoneri lost the first on penalties but won the second 2-1 thanks to a Filippo Inzaghi brace.
4. AC Milan have faced Porto nine times in Europe, winning four of those fixtures. The teams last met in 2003, when the Rossoneri ran out 1-0 winners in the UEFA Super Cup.
5. AC Milan have kept six clean sheets in nine matches against Porto in Europe, including four during the Champions League group stage.
