After the announcement of the fixture list for the 2020/21 Serie A season, we have time to go over five stats pertaining to the Rossoneri and the start of the league campaign. From opening day to the big matches, take a look:
- AC Milan face Bologna on matchday 1 for the third time in Serie A. The record between the two sides on opening day is perfectly level, with one win apiece: in 1998 for the Rossoneri, in 2008 for the Rossoblù.
- AC Milan have won their first game in each of their last two seasons in Serie A (1-0 to Udinese and 3-2 to Napoli); the Rossoneri have never lost on opening day in three consecutive years. The Diavolo failed to score in their first game last season: they've not gone two years without scoring on matchday 1 since 1983/84.
- The Rossoneri face two newly promoted sides - Crotone and Spezia - on the second and third matchdays, exactly as it was last season, when they beat Brescia and Hellas respectively.
- AC Milan face Inter on matchday 4 in Serie A for the fourth time ever. The last time this happened was last year.
- AC Milan v Juventus will played in the second half of the season for the third time - matchday 35: the last time this happening was May 2009 (1-1).
