AC MILAN v ATALANTA: MATCH PREVIEW

The Rossoneri host Atalanta at San Siro on Easter Sunday

AC Milan are preparing to take on Atalanta on Serie A matchday 33, scheduled for Sunday 20 Aprile at 20:45 CEST at San Siro. Sérgio Conceição's side are ready to face Gian Piero Gasperini's side. With the league coming into its final stages, every point is hugely important for the Rossoneri. We look forward to Easter Sunday's big match with our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM MILANELLO
AC Milan come into the game following the convincing 4-0 win away to Udinese, during which the side experimented with a 3-4-3 formation. The result and performance gave the team confidence. The Rossoneri are going through a period of highs and lows and will enter the game with two questions hanging over the heads, the conditions of Maignan and Santiago Gimenez. Emerson Royal, Loftus-Cheek and Walker will definitely be out. We don't have any suspended players, but three players are at risk of suspension: Bondo, Theo and Rafa. Coach Conceição's side are ready to fight for the three points to improve their current position in the league.

LATEST FROM ATALANTA
Atalanta come into the match following a solid 2-0 win against Bologna, which put an end to a run of three consecutive defeats against Inter, Fiorentina and Lazio. Gasperini's side have shown an ability to react in the most delicate moment of the season. The Bergamo based side are third in the league and will aim to consolidate their position. The clash against AC Milan is a good chance to confirm their competitiveness. Gasperini will have to make do given the injury situation: Posch, Scalvini, Scamacca and Kolašinac are all set to be out. Djimsiti, Hien and Lookman are at risk of suspension.

PRE-MATCH STATS

  • AC Milan have lost just one of their last 13 home matches (W8, D4) against Atalanta in the second half of a Serie A season, with that defeat arriving on 30 March 2008 (1-2). The last Rossoneri coach to lose their first encounter with La Dea at San Siro in the second half of a top-flight campaign was Nils Lidholm (0-1 in April 1978).
  • AC Milan and Atalanta are two of the three sides to have earned the most points from losing positions this season: 16 for the Rossoneri and 15 for La Dea (Bologna are ahead of both of them in this regard with a tally of 17).
  • Tijjani Reijnders, who has scored ten goals in Serie A this season (all from open play) has become the second Dutch player to reach double figures for AC Milan in a single top-flight campaign after Marco van Basten (who did so five times - 1988/89, 1989/90, 1990/91, 1991/92 and 1992/93). Across the top five leagues, out of the midfielders who have bagged all of their goals from open play, only Jamal Musiala (12/12) has scored more than the Rossoneri man in 2024/25 (10/10, the same as Hamed Traorè).
