A special night and chance to bounce back in the league. After their European exploits, the Rossoneri are back in action with AC Milan v Genoa on matchday 16 of Serie A. This match will be introduced by Head Coach Fonseca as he gives a press conference, from Milanello, live on AC Milan Official App and Milan TV from 14:15 CET.
THE COMMENTS AFTER RED STAR
"It would have been easy to just talk about the victory, or the four Champions League wins in a row. But tomorrow AC Milan is 125 years old; we have to live up to the history of this great club and on Wednesday for me we didn't. It was not a technical or tactical problem, but one of attitude. I felt the need to say what I thought publicly, I don't want to hide and I'm not worried. I expected certain difficulties - this is how it is at a high level. As always, I feel the support of the club, and I spoke with the management after the match. I spoke to the team, I looked the players in the eye and told them what I wanted. We faced and solved the problem in the locker room, working well together: we are a family. Now we move forward, and we will be ready for Genoa."
ATTITUDE, MOTIVATION AND DEFENCE
"I arrived to change the way we play. We started with not many players, we went on tour in America with several players who would leave the club afterwards, and the most important players were resting after their international commitments. We had eight full days to prepare for the first league game, after which we basically played every three days. It's not easy to change under these conditions and in such a short time, but we have already done part of it and I see good progress. We often look like a rollercoaster - the problem is mental, and I noticed it even before I got here: we have to face every match with the same motivation, without reservations. Atalanta created more chances against Real Madrid than against us, but we were lacking in the second half. Until Cagliari, we had obvious problems at the defensive level, but afterwards we improved a lot."
OBJECTIVES
"The Scudetto is difficult to win, but I continue to believe in it. We want to react and do better in the league, just as we want to keep going in Europe. I have already seen the AC Milan I want at times, but we have to be more consistent."
THE YOUNGSTERS AND THE CAPTAIN
"I will deploy the best possible formation. Milan Futuro is an important project for the club, and we'll see some of them on the pitch. Camarda's first goal? We have to let him grow in peace; sometimes there are too many expectations. Excessive pressure is not good. He's a quality lad, but we need balance in managing him. Jiménez? He's doing well. Captain? I inherited a clear hierarchy and I want to respect it until a change is required in my opinion."
