We are back in action. After the postponement of the game against Bologna, the Rossoneri are back in action in the league in their only midweek game of Serie A 2024/25. Matchday 10 in the league brings us a big match, between AC Milan and Antonio Conte's Napoli side. Before the clash at San Siro, Coach Fonseca gave a press conference from Milanello.
AC MILAN V NAPOLI
"Napoli is a very strong side and the table reflects that, as is their coach. They are in good form, they come to San Siro with the motivation to face us but we too are motivated. Napoli is one of the sides that could win the Scudetto, we're also in the running. We are a strong and growing side, we can fight for the title. The most impactful players for both teams are down the wing and that's where the game could be decided".
THE BOLOGNA POSTPONEMENT
"It has been hard to manage the postponement, we trained without knowing if we'd be playing or not. We wanted to play, we have been punished for not doing so because now we are left with two big suspensions. The squad anyway trained well, I have faith in all of them, also those who will play in the place of Reijnders and Theo Hernández. Bologna is in the past and now we are focused on tomorrow's game. For me, it doesn't change anything to have that asterisk in the standings, but I understand that it may be different for the fans"asterisk
INDIVIDUALS
"Camarda came in very well against Club Brugge, he has a bright future. Leão worked well as always, we are sure he will be back up to expectations soon. It's a normal situation that he's in, I assess many things when making my decisions. Calabria can play deep on the left, Pavlović has different skills with respect to that position. I like to think that absences present opportunities to other players, tomorrow we need to be a proper team".
GROWTH MARGINS
"In general, I expect a lot of improvement, when we analyse games we always look at what can be improved. Tomorrow, I'm expecting a balanced match, we will be facing a side that defend very well. The defence is growing a lot in terms of organisation and offensively, we have made progress in terms of possession. We need to better our decision-making, even if it's true that the victories help and give us another level of understanding, especially those against big sides".
