FONSECA: "FAITH AND AMBITION, WE ARE READY"

The Coach spoke on the eve of AC Milan v Torino, the league opener

Serie A 2024/25 is about to begin. The Rossoneri, after a position pre-season, are ready to kick off their new campaign on matchday 1. Our season will begin at San Siro with AC Milan v Torino. On the eve of the match, Coach Fonseca spoke in a press conference at Milanello. These are his words:

ON TO AC MILAN V TORINO
"The first game is always difficult, Torino is also a good side. They have changed coach, I know it well, they are organised and compact and also good on the ball. We have prepared well, we want to win. We are expecting a different and more complex game than those we have played so far in pre-season. We want to show our identity from the very first game, we want to do it for the fans".

FAITH AND AMBITION
"I came to AC Milan at the right moment in my career. The feeling is very positive, right from the first day, we have already improved more than I expected. We are ready, the squad is strong, and they have great faith and ambition. I didn't expect the group to learn our new football philosophy so quickly. Nowadays, sides that win are the sides with quality players but that act as more of a team, we always need our players to understand that we are stronger together".

THE FANS
"We feel the great warmth from our fans, it's really important for us. Having more than 50,000 people spectating AC Milan v Monza was moving, there will be even more against Torino and it will have even more of an effect. We want to make them proud, entertain them and involve them with our play".

THE LEAGUE
"We work and play to aim for the top, we cannot say that we are ahead of everyone to win the league but we want to be fighting for the Scudetto. Inter are reigning champions, we know their level, Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta, apart from ourselves, also have the right things to compete".

MARKET AND INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS
"Fofana? It's no secret that he's coming, I am happy with the move. After his arrival, our incomings will be completed, we will need to focus on outgoings. I have spoken with the players who may not pick up many minutes this season, there are a lot of us. Loftus-Cheek can play as a trequartista or a mezzala. Chukwueze is doing well, Morata has just arrived and is growing, Pulisic and Leão are ready, Jović has done good work this summer. Pavlović and Reijnders aren't in top condition to start against Torino".
