The end of the season is drawing ever nearer, and, after our last match against Genoa, another home clash now awaits, this time against Cagliari on matchday 36. At Milanello, the team have completed all their preparations for tomorrow's game, which Stefano Pioli previewed in his pre-match press conference today:
AC MILAN V CAGLIARI
"We want to get back to winning ways: for us, for the Club, for the fans. Second place is an important goal, we are motivated to play this game. Ranieri is good in all areas, a great coach, I also played under him and he was one of my greatest teacher alongside Trapattoni and Bagnoli. Cagliari are very direct with the ball, in defence they are sometimes aggressive and sometimes lay in wait".
THE SQUAD
"The squad is doing well, at the end of the season it is normal for some players to be more or less in form than one another and this will factor into my line-up. It would bother me if the squad weren't to bring all their energy to finish this season in the best way possible. No one has said they want to take it slow before the end of the season, the whole squad is ready and available. The biggest regret of the season is the double-header with Roma in the Europa League, we could have gone further. Losing the derbies also weighed heavily on us. We hoped to do better, in general, but I don't think the group ever lacked in their reaction".
DEFENSIVE PLAY
"We have suffered too hard for what we have conceded. So we have made excess errors".
THE FUTURE
"My position and position of others will be spoken about after the games, we will see. In these years, the Club has shown they know how to work and be ambitious. I believe that highs and lows of a season are always shared between Club, coach, and players".
INDIVIDUALS
"Leão has the desire to play and score, that way he'll be smiling again. Bennacer and Kalulu are doing well, Pierre is still not at 100% but they are ready to play".
