CHUKWUEZE: "I WANT TO WRITE HISTORY AT AC MILAN"

Samuel Chukwueze joined the Rossoneri family a few weeks ago and, in the past few days, has been able to meet the group following their return from the US. All eyes were on the Nigerian at Milanello today as he held his presentation press conference. This is what he had to say, with his words being broadcast on Milan TV, YouTube and the AC Milan Official App:

RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FANS
"The fans have been fantastic with me since my arrival. They really wanted me to come, and now I want to repay them for their affection through my performances on the pitch. My teammates and friends have already told me about the significance of playing at San Siro; the atmosphere is fantastic, and I want to hear our supporters' chants and feel their warmth. Their affection charges me up and motivates me; it doesn't put pressure on me. I want to have fun and also entertain them."

TEAMMATES
"It's been great being with my new teammates ever since I first met them. They gave me a fantastic welcome and immediately made me feel at home. The group is united, and I can't wait to continue working with them. I've already formed a close bond with Yacine Adli - he's a very nice guy and helps me out - as well as Okafor and Leão."

AC MILAN'S HISTORY
"When I think about this glorious Club's past, many players and trophies spring to mind. I especially admired Kaká: I remember his most important goals in the Champions League, and it's impossible to forget the one he scored against Manchester United. I want to make an impact and win trophies with this team. This is why I'm here and why AC Milan signed me. I want to write my name in this Club's history."

PHONE CALL WITH THE COACH
"Before completing my move here, I spoke to Coach Pioli. He first called me when I was away on international duty, and he talked to me about tactics and what he wants from me. He made it clear that he believed in my qualities and really wanted me to come. He has a precise idea of how he wants to play, and I believe in what he wants to do. He's also a fantastic man and a great coach."

SAMU'S STATS
"Every player grows season after season, and you always need to try and improve your numbers and skills. I'm not thinking about the past and what I did at Villarreal; I want to make history here. Being at AC Milan is a great challenge for me. I made a good impact in Spain, but I can display all of my talent here. I'm not afraid and have already set my objectives."

FROM SPAIN TO ITALY
"I can't wait to get going and want to win right from the opening matchday, irrespective of who we're up against. There are some great teams in Italy, but we'll do everything to beat them and win the Scudetto. In order to triumph, we'll have to overcome the best sides. AC Milan is a huge Club; it's something I immediately realised."

OSIMHEN AND ROBBEN
"Victor is my best friend; we've played together since we were 17. We started out together, and I've often asked him about his experience in Italy. I told him about AC Milan's interest in me, and he told me that this is a big Club with a great history. He also spoke well of the Coach. He advised me to come here, although we often joked about the fact that he wanted me to join him at Napoli. However, I told him that they wouldn't beat us this year. Robben was a fantastic player in my position; he had indisputable qualities and I try to draw inspiration from him."
