MILAN FUTURO, A GOOD DRAW IN SASSARI: 0-0

A tenacious and resilient performance by the Rossoneri as they hold Torres to a draw in the rescheduled matchday 3 fixture

The rescheduled Matchday 3 clash in Group B of Serie C between Torres and Milan Futuro ends in a 0-0 draw at the Vanni Sanna Stadium in Sassari. It's a fair result considering the midweek fixture, which had been postponed due to the Rossoneri's numerous youth international commitments. Despite facing an unbeaten team this season, Milan Futuro delivered a gritty and resilient performance, ultimately suffering very little and even creating the best chances to break the deadlock. One in each half: in the first 45 minutes through Fall, and in the second with the Turco-Cuenca duo.

We leave Sardinia with plenty of positives, as we'll return in November for the Coppa Italia Round of 16, once again against Torres. In a 90-minute match with few highlights, the Rossoneri showed consistent focus in every phase of the game, managing to create some promising attacking plays against a tough opponent that could have reached the top of the table with a win. There are still three league matches left this month, with Bonera's team returning to action on Monday 23 September, away at Rimini.

MATCH REPORT
The Rossoneri started strong with an early opportunity in the second minute when a deflection after the host's clearance narrowly missed the goal. It was the most notable moment of an otherwise quiet first 20 minutes, with the hosts trying to dictate play while Bonera's side stayed solid in defence. On 18 minutes, Sandri threatened with a free-kick that forced a save from Zaccagno, while Torres responded in the 28 minute with Liviero setting up Brentan, who couldn't quite capitalize. Fall had a great chance in the 36 minute, only for Fabriani to clear it off the line. Just before half-time, Torres caused some danger with a scramble in the box, but nothing came of it.

At the start of the second half, Jiménez made a crucial defensive intervention in the 55th minute, blocking Scotto as he raced towards goal. After a quiet spell, the Rossoneri sparked into action in the 70th minute: first, Turco, fresh off the bench, narrowly missed a connection in the centre of the box after Jiménez's initial shot was spilt, then Cuenca's curling left-foot strike was punched away by Zaccagno. Hugo tried to send Zeroli through in the 78th minute, but the opposing goalkeeper rushed out to smother the chance. Despite the high intensity, opportunities were limited as the match wore on. The final moment of danger came in the fifth minute of stoppage time, with a free kick for the home side, but the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
