EURO 2024, FRANCE ELIMINATED IN SEMIS

Maignan and Theo Hernández play the full 90 minutes in 2-1 defeat to Spain

Mike Maignan and Theo Hernández’s journey with France at Euro 2024 has come to an end in the semi-finals. In Munich, the showdown between Les Bleus and Spain finished 2-1 to La Roja: following Kolo Muani’s ninth-minute opener for the French, Yamal (21’) and Olmo (25’) turned things around. Maignan and Hernández once again started and played the entire 90 minutes. Mike couldn’t do anything about the two Spain goals, which were La Roja’s only shots on target. Theo posed a threat in spells for France but had less space compared to previous outings. Olivier Giroud also came on during the closing stages, replacing Dembélé in the 79th minute, but he was unable to make an impact. Les Bleus failed to really trouble Unai Simón, and Spain will now play either England or the Netherlands in the final.
