FRANCE AND PORTUGAL QUALIFY FOR EURO 2024

It was an evening of final verdicts. Friday's started late after Pellegrino wasn't involved in Argentina's 1-0 win over Paraguay (World Cup 2026 qualifying), and there was plenty of international action for the Rossoneri. France beat the Netherlands to book their spot at the Euros next summer with a record of 18 points from six games. Maignan, Hernández and Giroud all played in the 2-1 win in Amsterdam: Mike and Theo for the full 90 and Giroud off the bench in the second half. Their AC Milan teammate Reijnders played the entire match on the other side as a winger.

Portugal were also victorious, beating Slovakia 3-2 to qualify for the Euros with 21 points from seven games. Rafael Leão started the game in Porto and was subbed off after a good hour of football. Elsewhere in friendly action, Fikayo Tomori played 62 minutes in England 1-0 Australia in London and Samuel Chukwueze for 65 minutes in Saudi Arabia 2-2 Nigeria in Portimão.
