CALABRIA PLAYS THE END OF THE MATCH AS ITALY FALL TO DEFEAT

The Azzurri lose 2-1 to Spain at San Siro and fail to reach the Nations League final

Eighteen minutes plus added time. Davide Calabria came on in the 72nd minute of what was a difficult night for Mancini's Italy as they were beaten by Spain at San Siro, a defeat that ends their long unbeaten streak which lasted for 37 games, from 10 October 2018. The Nations League semi-final went the way of Luis Enrique's Red Fury thanks to Ferran Torres' brace in the first half. Italy, down to ten men from the 42nd minute after Bonucci saw red, were given a lifeline near the end thanks to Pellegrini's goal but couldn't complete the comeback. The Azzurri return to action on Sunday at 15:00 CEST at the Allianz Stadium in Turin to take on the loser of Belgium v France this evening: third place will be up for grabs.
