TIME MACHINE: KEISUKE HONDA IN AC MILAN v LAZIO

AC Milan v Lazio once again, an absolute classic in our league. On Saturday we return to the field against Maurizio Sarri's Biancocelesti, a few days after we play away to Cagliari. As we approach the match, let's experience the match-up from August 2014, won 3-1 by the Rossoneri with one hero, Keisuke Honda. 

It was the first match of the 2014/15 Serie A, and sat on the Rossonero bench for the first time was Filippo Inzaghi. On the Biancoceleste bench, however, was Stefano Pioli. The Rossoneri broke the deadlock almost immediately thanks to Keisuke Honda's finish following a surgical counter-attack: El Shaarawy escaped down the left and found the Japanese beautifully, cutting the pitch in half, who shot past the oncoming Berisha with his first touch. The Rossonero 10 scored his second Serie A goal, in what would turn out to be a prolific start to the season, scoring 6 goals in his first 7 games.  The Rossoneri capitalised upon Lazio's push for an equaliser. 

In the second half, as Biancocelesti pressure mounted, AC Milan struck and found the doubler: cross from Abate for Muntari, who slipped his marker and slotted past the keeper for 2-0 in the 56th minute. Finding the double settled Inzaghi's men, whilst Pioli's outfit found themselves on the ropes. They capitulated in 64' when Ménez was brought down by de Vrij in the area, penalty: the Frenchman shot past Berisha, making it 3-0. Only three minutes later, the visitors reduced the deficit thanks to an own goal from Alex, following Đorđević's cross. The Rossoneri started the season in the best possible way while waiting for Fernando Torres.
