For World Children's Day, Fondazione Milan and Associazione Davide Astori come together to help regenerate an abandoned space on the outskirts of Milan and contribute to ensuring a meeting and playing area for over 500 youths belonging to local bodies, associations, and institutions, providing a touchstone for the families in the area.
In honour and memory of Davide Astori who was always concerned with local issues and a great supporter children’s right to play sports, the commitment will be backed up by a fundraising campaign which will be open online all week at the following link: sostieni.fondazionemilan.org/perdavide and will culminate in a collection of funds at San Siro on Saturday 25 November.
Ahead of the Serie A fixture between AC Milan and Fiorentina, two clubs that accompanied Astori from his time as a Youth Sector talent to being the captain of a top flight team, over 50 volunteers will support Fondazione Milan and Associazione Davide Astori at the main entrance points of the stadium to get many fans involved ahead of kick off.
The project will bring benefit to a green public area that is currently experiencing difficult socioeconomic situations and lacks sports facilities. It is part of the Assist program from Fondazione Milan and will be part of the “Planting New Memories” initiative that is a testimony to the vision and commitment of AC Milan and the entire Rossoneri family to social and environmental issues during the festive period.
