YOUTH SECTOR: FIRST FIXTURES AFTER THE WINTER BREAK

2024 is here, and AC Milan's youth sides will soon return to the pitch

With the winter break set to come to an end, the Rossonero Youth Sector is preparing for the challenge of a very busy 2024. The first side to return to the pitch will be Coach Abate's U19s, who have an away game against Frosinone on Saturday 6 January in the Primavera 1 division. The Rossoneri, who have thus far enjoyed a promising campaign in league and cup football, are aiming to get back to winning ways at the top end of a very congested table. In fact, six sides are separated by just five points.

As they get into the flow of things again, the Primavera will also resume their Coppa Italia campaign. So far, they've beaten Virtus Entella, Sampdoria and Empoli on their way to the quarter-finals, where they'll face Fiorentina on 10 January. Meanwhile, on Sunday 7 January, Coach Terni's U18s have a six-pointer at home to Roma. It's an important game where the Rossoneri have the chance to pick up points to propel them towards the highest positions in the table.

Also in store are two derby fixtures: the U16s and U15s will both host Inter at the PUMA House of Football on matchday 13, thus bringing the first half of the regular season to a close. It'll be a true top-of-the-table clash for Coach Baldo's side, who sit one point behind Inter in Group B. A single point also separates AC Milan and Inter U15s, who are respectively third and second behind table-topping Atalanta.

On the weekend of 14 January, meanwhile, it'll be the turn of other AC Milan youth sides to return to action. The women's Primavera will be on the hunt for crucial points when they take on Sassuolo on the road, while Coach Renna' record-breaking U17s are aiming to get the better of FeralpiSalò and, in doing so, record their 14th consecutive league victory. It's sure to be an exciting start to 2024.
