Coach Baldo's U16s will no doubt be feeling very satisfied this Christmas. The young Rossoneri currently sit second in Group B with 29 points from twelve matches after nine wins, two draws and just a single defeat.
So far, the team have performed particularly well defensively: they've conceded just ten goals in twelve matches, meaning they have the best defensive record across the three Allievi Nazionali U16 divisions. This is a clear sign of the fantastic team spirit that has been created.
The Rossoneri youngsters have been in fine form at the other end of the pitch, too: they've scored 38 goals - an average of more than three a game - through eleven different players. The Diavolo currently have three top scorers with six goals apiece: they are Simon La Mantia, Simone Lupo and Filippo Plazzotta, respectively a defender, striker and midfielder.
This is a versatile and talented squad that is enjoying a very promising season. It's also been a campaign where two 2008-born youngsters - Francesco Camarda and Christian Comotto - have already made their mark in higher age groups. When they return to the pitch in 2024, the U16s have a home match against Inter, a derby showdown that will determine who sits top at the halfway stage.
