UNDER 17'S, STEADY COURSE FOR THE PLAYOFFS

Second place in the standings and playoff quarter-finals almost secured

A 4-2 win over Venezia brings mathematical qualification for the final phase of the season even closer. Christian Lantignotti's Under-17 side, at the PUMA House of Football, overcame the Laguna team at the end of a tough match that had its complications.

"It was not an easy match," confirmed the coach, "but a well-earned and hard-fought victory. Venezia, despite the league-table, proved to be a tough opponent and were able to dribble very well. The team was good at closing the match at the right time, and I congratulate the boys because they gave everything and got a great result, perhaps not playing as well as other times".

Sunday's victory allowed the U17s, as we were saying, to take a further step towards their goal: with 51 points, two lengths behind the leading Inter, the Rossoneri have secured second which grants direct access to the Scudetto Quarter-finals. With five matches to go and with a 10-point margin over Verona, it is a guarantee that would be made even better with a win on Sunday (15:00 CET) away to Südtirol who are bottom of the league table.

The Rossoneri group, which has already enriched the Primavera with the three valuable players Parmiggiani, Scotti and Sia, last season in the Under 16s were stopped in the Final against Roma. Coach Lantignotti, on the other hand, guided the U17 team to the semi-final, which they then lost to Bologna. The objective of the team and coach is to continue to grow, and making the tricolour dream come true.
