From 23 January 2022 to 21 January 2023. From Sampdoria to... Sampdoria. Martina Piemonte has been at the Club for just over a year now after signing for the Rossonere on 30 December 2021. Quite by coincidence, she will mark the milestone in the Rossonere's first game back against Sampdoria, against whom she made her full debut and scored her first goal for the Club. That game was at the PUMA House of Football, while this time she and her teammates will be traveling to Genoa.
Piemonte has performed so consistently throughout this past year and, after opening her account on that cold January afternoon, scored in the two matches after that. First against Samp - in the Coppa Italia - and then a brilliant header against Lazio, which was one of the best goals of last season.
Martina has scored 13 goals in all competitions - Serie A, Coppa Italia, and The Women's Cup - for AC Milan as she worked her way back into the international set-up and earned a call-up for the Women's Euros last summer. She scores good goals too, a testament to her well-rounded skillset: headers, right foot, left foot, she has it all.
She's also proved that she is the woman for the big occasion, scoring in the win over Juventus - AC Milan's 200th goal in Women's Serie A - and a brace in the 6-1 thrashing of Fiorentina. We'll need to see even more big goals in a season, which has yet to reach its climax. Hopefully, she can hit the ground running in the Rossonere's next game when, one year on, she could score in three consecutive games in all competitions.
