PRIMAVERA: OVERCOMING OBSTACLES WITH HEART

It looked to be all over, but El Hilali's right-foot screamer wrote a different ending to the story. The Rossoneri U19s' 2023 kicked off in electric fashion on 6 January with a last-minute 2-2 draw with Napoli that has reinvigorated the squad's mood. 0-2 down, the lads found the strength to react, overcoming their own fears and the many absences missing from the team. 

It wasn't just any other fightback, but rather a demonstration of the identity of the squad created by Abate: never give in, and above all, look to get a result through playing football. Gala and El Hilali, two of the more senior players in this very young group, led the comeback to earn a result from the first game of the new year. 

Napoli's two-goal lead was very harsh on the Rossoneri, and therefore some justice was restored at the end. The side must now prepare for the Milan derby at the weekend against reigning Primavera champions Inter, who after a difficult start to the season have picked up eight points in their last four games.

The Rossoneri Primavera will need to be at their best to win the game and push themselves up the table. The exciting run in the Youth League must act as a motivator for the squad to be able to repeat that success at a domestic level. The will to get back to winning ways in the league is high and the lads are preparing at their maximum to obtain what would be a massive result.
