Federico Dubini, a Venture Capitalist in the Forbes 30 Under 30 List of young persons who are changing the world, has Rossoneri blood running through his veins. Not only that: he experienced the atmosphere on the eve of AC Milan v Genoa at Milanello, met Alexandre Pato, and attended Paulo Fonseca's pre-match press conference.
Federico's great-grandfather was Antonio Dubini, who was present at the Fiaschetteria Toscana on Via Berchet in Milan when Milan Cricket and Football Club was founded in December 125 years ago. Antonio Dubini was not only part of the Italian group that contributed to the club's foundation but also played as a striker in the newborn club's first competitive campaign. Later, having retired from playing in 1902, he continued contributing as an executive of the club. Federico's grandfather, Antonio Dubini, often told the family how AC Milan began.
Federico Dubini splits his time between Los Angeles and Palo Alto, where he manages Enea, a $50-million fund. Federico's remembrance of Antonio: “The memory of my great-grandfather Antonio is an honour and also an incredible emotion. Milan continues to represent the city's values and, in a certain sense, of my family.” Here's the bond: “Yes, AC Milan and my family have always been together, it has always been part of us, and we have always spoken of Milan respectfully.”
Today: “In Milan, I see an AC Milan that fights to achieve goals in the world, exactly as I have always done, with commitment, humility and hard work.” His family: “Sport has always united us, in the family with my cousins, we have always watched AC Milan together.” The perception from the USA: “Italy is viewed as the hotbed of football, the Americans are starting to appreciate Italian football and AC Milan is doing a lot to bridge the gap.”
