It was a beautiful evening in the Champions League, on Valentine's Day no less. The first leg of AC Milan v Tottenham finished with a 1-0 win for the Rossoneri, who can go into the game in London on 8 March with renewed confidence. The players took to social media after the game to celebrate. Here are some of their posts:
Let's start with the matchwinner, Brahim Díaz, who scored his first Champions League at San Siro. The Spanish trequartista appeared delighted on Instagram: "WOW! What a team performance!"
Rafael Leão, who was UEFA's Man of the Match, paid tribute to Brahim. "1/2", wrote Rafa, referring to the away leg on 8 March in London.
The MVP for the Rossoneri fans, on the other hand, was Malick Thiaw, who put in a colossal performance in his first-ever Champions League start. "Job not finished," claimed the German defender, who is looking ahead to the second leg.
Simon Kjær played well in the heart of the defence, guiding his younger centre-back partners through the tough encounter with Spurs' front three. "A super European night at San Siro," the Dane wrote.
Junior Messias came off the bench in the second half to make his contribution. He said: "Great team victory! Let's continue on together."
