THE INAUGURATION OF THE FIRST ROSSONERI STORE AT MALPENSA AIRPORT

The first store of a football club in one of the major national and international air hubs

Inside Terminal 1, in the Schengen departure area, AC Milan has inaugurated the first official store of a football club at Milan Malpensa Airport, one of the major national and international air hubs.

AC Milan has always been deeply tied to the identity of Milan, capital of fashion and design, continuously setting new trends fuelled by the energy of a vibrant community with an ever-forward gaze. Through the opening of a new store in such a meaningful location, the Club, already internationally recognised as one of the most esteemed football brands, further demonstrates its status as an Italian excellence on the global stage, capable of positioning itself at the intersection of worlds and representing the soul and spirit of Milan for anyone passing through the city.

The decision to open this new retail point in one of the city's most important tourist destinations is part of the wider retail expansion strategy, that included the refurbishment of the San Siro store, opening of the Matchday store, as well as the various domestic and international pop-ups in Milano Centrale, Riyadh (Italian Supercup) and during the US Tour in LA and Las Vegas. The retail programme has had a significant growth (+68%) versus last season across all AC Milan doors, including ecommerce.

The Club aims to have an even stronger presence for over 500 million enthusiast who support the team in Milan and around the world. This includes both the most passionate fans and those who are approaching the Rossoneri colours for the first time. They will have the opportunity to purchase the official Club and PUMA merchandise, including the Home and Away kits for the 2023/24 season, as well as the brand-new Third kit, debuting on the weekend of September 24th in the home match against Hellas Verona.

Furthermore, the store is prepared to cater to those with a keen eye for the latest trends. It will in fact feature the latest limited edition and exclusive collections launched by the Club, including collaborations with some of the top international brands like New Era, a global leader in the headwear industry.

"The store has been conceived not only as a point of reference for tourists," stated Casper Stylsvig, Chief Revenue Officer of AC Milan, "but also for our most devoted fans. We aim to satisfy the needs of everyone, from those who wish to purchase the latest AC Milan jersey before heading home to those who simply seek a souvenir of our beautiful city. The opening of this new retail point aligns with the Club's ambitious retail strategy, contributing to enhancing both its local presence and international essence."

The store, open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM during the summer and from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM during the winter, will be a permanent presence within the airport, allowing the Club to be even closer to all its supporters by accompanying them on their journey until the final farewell before leaving the city.

In 2022, Malpensa Airport saw over 21 million passengers and 700,000 tons of cargo pass through, ranking it second and first in Italy, respectively. Furthermore, the airport is sixth in Europe and ninth in the world for the number of countries served by direct flights.
