AC Milan has today announced that Maikel Oettle will hold the position of Commercial Director of the Rossoneri. Oettle’s appointment - in line with the Club's strategic objective of increasing revenue - highlights his professional growth within AC Milan, with the manager first joining the Rossoneri in 2019 as Sponsorship Sales Director.
Through Oettle's appointment and the consequent creation of a renewed team structure under him, AC Milan introduces a new business-to-business model, which aims to prepare the Club for the next phase, consolidating a period of constant growth off the pitch with major commercial agreements and renewals, including with long-standing partners PUMA and Emirates.
The new model aims to further accelerate the process of acquiring new partners, managing the commercial assets of the Club, including the sale and acquisition of media rights. The model is also designed to generate new strategic collaborations to enhance the AC Milan brand in the world and to capitalize on the management of existing partnerships, through an innovative ROI and marketing driven approach capable of fully satisfying the needs of partners.
Casper Stylsvig, AC Milan's Chief Revenue Officer, added: "Maikel Oettle, just like all colleagues in the commercial department, has made a significant contribution to the Club's commercial revenue growth in the past four years. For this reason, we are very proud that his journey within the Club is continuing, and we are confident that his new role, alongside the professionalism and dedication of everyone in his team and in the commercial department, can have a key role in AC Milan's future success off the pitch."
Maikel Oettle, AC Milan's new Commercial Director, said: "I would like to thank the Club and Leadership for the opportunity to continue my professional development here at AC Milan. I feel very privileged to continue working alongside a team of excellent professionals, with whom we are building the foundations for the next phase of the commercial growth of this legendary Club. Through this new model, which embraces all crucial leverages when it comes to partner acquisition and management, we aim to consolidate the fantastic results achieved so far to accelerate the creation of new revenue streams and to continue to unlock the potential of the AC Milan brand around the world."
