We now know our next opponents: the draw in Nyon has decided that the Rossoneri will play Napoli in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. After knocking out Tottenham in the Round of 16, AC Milan will now take on Napoli. The first leg will be played at San Siro, on 12 April at 21:00 CET, and the second leg at the Maradona, on 18 April at 21:00 CET. A possible semi-final matchup will see us face the winner of Benfica v Inter.
Here is how the Quarter-finals look:
STATISTICS AND FUN FACTS
This will be the first time AC Milan and Napoli will have faced each other in a European competition. AC Milan have only ever lost once against Italian opposition in nine European fixtures (0-2 v Parma in the second leg of the European Supercup Final in 1993) and have kept a clean sheet on six occassions, letting in a total of four goals and scoring ten.
THE WORDS OF FREDERIC MASSARA
"We are among the best eight sides in Europe and the games and teams in the quarter-finals are all of the highest level. It'll be a very exciting game against Napoli, one that we'll go into with confidence, and we'll have to play exceptionally well. Three games in 20 days won't help, but it'll be the same for both sides.. We welcome this draw openly and hope to be part of two great games, because AC Milan and Napoli have both shown they are capable of playing top-class football".
