Following Thursday's group stage draw, UEFA have now published the fixture list for the Champions League group stage. Stefano Pioli's Rossoneri will be taking on three unusual opponents, but not completely unknown if we look through the history books. We need to go all the way back to the end of the 20th century for our most recent Champions League clash with reigning World Champions Chelsea FC. It was the group stage of 1999/2000 and we drew home and away: 0-0 at Stamford Bridge and 1-1 (Bierhoff with the goal) at San Siro.
Further back in the past, we have a Champions League group stage clash with FC Salzburg; in 1994/95, the Rossoneri won home and away (3-0 in Milan, 1-0 in Austria). The most recent Champions League meeting with our three opponents in Group E was in 2000/01 when we faced GNK Dinamo Zagreb in qualifying: the Rossoneri again won home and away, with a 3-1 victory at San Siro followed up by a 3-0 win in the Croatian capital.
