ADLI IS THE MVP FROM AC MILAN v ROMA

Yacine found the net and was our best performer in the 3-1 victory at San Siro

Finally a goal, and so much more than that too. Yacine Adli was the best player on the pitch in AC Milan v Roma, producing a performance of real quality and substance. The 23-year-old Frenchman was tidy on the ball, read the game perfectly and displayed real character. And then there was his first competitive goal in our shirt. Previously, he’d only found the net in friendlies against Wolfsberger in July 2022 and Lumezzane in December 2022.

In the 3-1 victory over Roma, Adli got on the scoresheet in a competitive match for the first time since he netted for Bordeaux against Rennes on 21 October 2021, 805 days ago. Furthermore, he became the twelfth player to score for AC Milan in the league this campaign, with only Juventus and Frosinone (13) having done better in this regard so far. He got the ball under control, sidestepped Kristensen and then let fly with a precise left-footed effort that, much to his and the crowd’s delight, beat Svilar.

He'd been waiting for such a moment for so long, and he deservedly got to experience it after all his hard work and dedication. Game after game, he’s carving out more playing time for the Rossoneri, all the while displaying a spirit of sacrifice, courage and quality. Against Roma, he had 80 touches, made 56 successful passes, covered 11.5 km, won three tackles and completed all his dribbles.

His fantastic evening didn’t go unnoticed by our fans, who gave him a standing ovation at San Siro and, after the game, voted him as their MVP on the AC Milan Official App. The Frenchman received over 61% of the votes and thus finished ahead of Theo Hernández (19%) and Olivier Giroud (16%). Well done, Yacine, and keep it up!
