What a month Luka Jović had! Against Frosinone, the Serbian striker bagged his first AC Milan goal, and his fine performances have continued since. It's only logical, then, that he's been named the MVP of the month. The Rossoneri fans have had their say and selected Luka ahead of three other key figures during December 2023: Christian Pulisic, Tijjani Reijnders and Fikayo Tomori.
Jović, who arrived at Milanello right at the end of the summer transfer window, has enjoyed increasingly more playing time and established himself as a reliable and high-quality alternative in attack. Before his MVP-worthy December displays, there were also some very promising signs at the end of November: he provided the pass that led to the penalty converted by Theo Hernández against Fiorentina, while he also hit the post with a header against Borussia Dortmund.
Frosinone, Atalanta, Salernitana. Three goals after starting the first match against the Ciociari and coming on as a substitute for the closing stages against the latter two. He didn't just make a scoring contribution: he provided the assist for Tomori's goal against Frosinone, was involved in the move leading up to Chukwueze’s winner against Newcastle and also did well in the final minutes against Sassuolo.
Jović is the fourth attacker to pick up the MVP of the month award this season after Pulisic, Leão and Giroud, while his brace (his first as an AC Milan player) against Cagliari in the Coppa Italia also bodes well at the start of 2024. Keep it up, Luka!
