GIROUD MVP FROM AC MILAN V CAGLIARI

Olivier voted as the Rossoneri's best performer in AC Milan's 4-1 victory at San Siro

Great to have you here, Olivier. Giroud’s first San Siro appearance certainly wasn’t a bad one, nor was the Rossoneri’s first home match of the season. Against Cagliari, the Frenchman scored his first official goals in an AC Milan shirt (he previously bagged a brace against Panathinaikos in pre-season). It was a dream evening, one which saw him warm the hearts of the AC Milan fans at the stadium and around the world. Now, those same supporters have voted him as the Rossoneri MVP from AC Milan 4-1 Cagliari, with the striker receiving over 50% of the vote share and thus finishing ahead of Tonali, Díaz and Hernández.

Yesterday evening, he netted the Diavolo’s third and fourth goals, allowing Coach Pioli’s men to put the game to bed. The first was a precise left-footed finish from open play, while he also used his left foot for the second, which he scored from the penalty spot. Giroud gave a complete No. 9 performance: not only did he find the net, he also produced quality passes and lay-offs and was in constant dialogue with his teammates. The Frenchman scored twice from two shots on target, laid the ball off on five occasions, created four opportunities, had a 100% dribble success rate and made 17 successful passes. He’s set to be an important signing and has already shown what he’s all about right from the get-go. Well done, Olivier, and keep it up!
