Milano

Born in the heart of the city of Milan, Francesco Soldera after his debut at US Milanese moved to AC Milan in 1914. Lean and small, on the pitch, he became a giant for his generosity and spirit of sacrifice. Alongside the other terrible shorties Scaroni and Morandi, he initiated a very intense and frantic midfield action that was hailed with enthusiasm by the crowds. In 1924, he left the club after winning the Federation Cup as captain. His younger brother Giuseppe, also a footballer, died in one of the battles of the Isonzo river during the Great War.
