A dual Argentine-French citizen, Nestor Combin played for Olympique Lyonnais before crossing the Alps to enjoy spells at Juventus, Varese and Torino. He arrived at AC Milan in 1969 and played with them the two-legged Intercontinental Cup final against Estudiantes in October. In the first leg at San Siro he scored the second goal that allowed Milan to win the game 3-0. In the second leg at La Bombonera stadium in Buenos Aires, the Argentines took a hard-line approach, playing particularly rough against Combin and teammates. Despite a narrow defeat, the Rossoneri won their first intercontinental trophy.
