Coming from the youth sector of Fiorentina, Luciano Chiarugi joined Milan after winning the historical 1968/69 Scudetto with the Viola. Endowed with a great creative flair, reluctant to follow tactical rules, he promptly conquered San Siro fans with his quick changes of direction, feints and powerful shots. His memorable year was 1973, when he lifted the Italian Cup and the European Champion Clubs' Cup won thanks to a free kick scored by the free-role playmaker who was also named top scorer of the tournament with a total of 7 goals.
