PRECIOUS POINT IN ROME FOR THE PRIMAVERA

Little excitement and no goals, positive outing for the Rossoneri who remain on top

A second draw for AC Milan's Primavera in the league, in another difficult away match in Rome, following that in Florence. The match in Trigoria ended 0-0, a scoreline that reflected a match short of thrills, but full of substance: the teams divided the winnings after each enjoying spells of dominance. Neither team could dominate enough to break the deadlock, however, with very few threatening attacks from either team. It was a positive performance despite the result; the Rossoneri were forced to play dirty, but they were careful and did not allow their opponents an inch until the end, creating the best opportunity with Zeroli hitting the woodwork.

Abate's team picked up where they left off after the break, even in Rome, facing a strong team. This important point in a tough away match means the team remain at the top of standings with 17 points, building on their unbeaten run after seven matches in Primavera 1. Despite the lack of goals, the importance of conceding very few chances and risking little cannot be understated against such a strong opponent, often featuring in the playoffs. Now it is back to the Youth League,  where il Diavolo take on PSG at the Stade Georges-Lefèvre on Matchday 3 on Wednesday 25 October at 14:00, hoping to maintain their perfect record.

MATCH REPORT
Roma put the pressure on in the opening stages. Attention, application and a battle for every ball limited scoring chances, which were practically absent in the first quarter of an hour apart from a flash from Cherubini, who put the ball into a good area but no one could get on the end of it. In the 25th minute, Cherubini tried again: a good shot from the distance, Raveyre blocked. In the 28th minute, Sia's shot from a corner went over the bar. The scoreline remained even, with nothing to report except an effort from João Costa after Magni's error and Misitano's counter.

The second half kicked off in the rain and the Rossoneri appeared more lively. A great play in the 49th minute: Malaspina’s effort forced a flying save from Marin. Two big chances in the 56th and 57th minutes: Scotti’s attempt from close range blocked off the line and then the following corner: Zeroli’s header struck the far post. The Giallorossi then grew back into the game: in the 60th minute, Golič had a free header but could not find the target, in the 65th minute, Graziani’s effort and then Golič’s attempt from a free-kick but Raveyre was equal to it. Substitutions reduced the momentum of the game, with only one moment of excitement to follow: Cuenca’s free-kick but he could not find the target. Result, 0-0.
