TRAORÈ EARNS PRIMAVERA DRAW: 1-1

A splendid free kick by Chaka was good for the equaliser against Samp in the midweek fixture

AC Milan Primavera will still have to wait for their first win of 2023. At the PUMA House of Football, the Rossoneri drew 1-1 against Sampdoria, with Traorè's splendid free-kick cancelling out Pozzato's early lead. A fair result at the end of a relatively uneventful match, in which Abate's team held the field well, giving up very little in defence, but without creating much offensively.

In the second half, the substitutes brought more liveliness to the side: as well as Traorè - with his fifth goal of the season in Primavera 1 - Gala's contribution in midfield was also positive. Leonardo D'Alessio, who returned to the group in the last few days, made his first appearance in the squad list and on the bench. In this particularly busy February, the Rossoneri can find opportunities to get themselves back on track given the schedule: starting with Sunday morning's match away at Cesena.

MATCH REPORT
A very tight start from both teams, who alternated possession without generating any noteworthy chances. In the 35th minute an excellent counter-attack for the Rossoneri went amiss when Alesi, captain of the day, missed a goal-scoring chance. It was rather unfortunate, because Sampdoria took the lead with their first shot on goal: 39th minute, Pozzato's cross-volley was unstoppable for Nava. AC Milan's reaction was good, getting off two shots that didn't trouble the Doriana goal much, those from Mangiameli in the 44th minute (blocked by a defender) and from Stalmach in the second half (saved by Tantalocchi).

The second half started with a chance for AC Milan, again at the feet of Alesi: in the 53rd minute Gabriele, having received the ball in the box, had his shot blocked by the visitors' defence. Coach Abate tried to sway the momentum of the match with substitutions - in came Gala and Traorè - and in the 58th minute the Rossoneri produced their best chance with a right-footed volley from Casali that was blocked on the goal-line by Tantalocchi. They needed something special to shake up the match and this arrived in the 67th minute with Chaka Traorè's splendid free-kick, which the goalkeeper could not get his hand on. In the 85th minute, Zeroli went for the spectacular with an acrobatic move, but the ball flew over the bar. Nothing more significant happened: the match ended 1-1 at the PUMA House of Football.
